Galaxy Note 8 Still The Best-Selling Phone In Korea: Data

The Galaxy Note 8 is still the best-selling smartphone in Samsung’s home country where it was the top commercial performer of by far the largest wireless carrier SK Telecom Co. in the second week of October, Yonhap News reported on Thursday, citing market analytics company ATLAS Research & Consulting. During the week-long period observed by the firm, 28.3 percent of all smartphone sales in South Korea were of the 64GB version of the Galaxy Note 8, suggesting that the entire lineup was closer to seizing a third of total purchases. Apart from the regular variant of the phablet, Samsung is also selling one with 256GB of internal flash memory in the Far Eastern country.

The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to be one of the best-selling smartphones of 2017, according to most industry trackers. In the context of the Android ecosystem, only the Galaxy S8 lineup is likely to outperform Samsung’s new phablet which is projected to reach 10 million sales by December 31st. South Korea remains one of Samsung’s key and most loyal markets where the Galaxy Note 8 recorded approximately 850,000 pre-orders before being released on September 21st, with recent data suggesting that the device presently boasts a one percent market share in the United States, the world’s largest market for high-end smartphones. Its current performance in South Korea is said to be comparable to the strong start of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, though the phablet is highly unlikely to surpass its siblings in 2017 because it’s not only competing with them but also had less time on the market, even though it may come closer to their sales figures next year.

The Galaxy Note 8 is Samsung’s most powerful Android smartphone to date, with the company presenting it as the ultimate combination of style and substance meant to be both appealing and conducive to productivity. The Korean tech giant opted to equip the handset with a 6.3-inch Infinity Display panel and deliver a handset that features minimal bezels and a screen that slightly curves around its long edges. Beneath the IP68-certified surface of the Galaxy Note 8 is the Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 SoC, depending on the territory, as well as 4GB of RAM, with its rear panel featuring Samsung’s first mobile dual-camera setup thought to be one of the most capable in the industry.
