Gallery: LEAGOO S8 Pro Revealed In First Live Images

LEAGOO is one of Chinese OEMs to look to if you’re looking for a rather affordable, and yet really good-looking smartphone, and the company’s answer to the Samsung Galaxy S8, the LEAGOO S8 Pro, has come out to continue this trend by revealing its build quality and beauty in its first ever set of live photos. The photo set depicts a svelte glass and metal device that looks somewhat like a cross between a Samsung Galaxy S8 and a higher-range Honor device. Many hallmarks of LEAGOO’s own design conventions built up over the years also shine through, making for a very interesting and stylish phone.

The front of the device sports a large, rounded screen with the ever-popular 18:9 aspect ratio. The rounded corners of the screen make the fact that the bezels aren’t quite as thin as some comparable models a bit less obvious. The front-facing camera is separated from its second shooter by the earpiece speaker. This device also bucks the curved, 3D glass trend, opting for a simple flat front. The back of the device, however, curves in toward the metal spine. A strip of unibody aluminum separates the two glass plates, and houses the phone’s various buttons and ports. There’s a power button, volume rocker, and SIM slot along the right side, and a 3.5mm headphone jack, speaker, and USB Type-C charging port along the bottom, leaving the top and left sides bare. Large dual cameras are tucked into the corner around back, with the flash bulb in a separate panel. Unlike the Samsung flagship that this phone is arguably aping, the LEAGOO S8 Pro has a squarish fingerprint sensor on the back of the device, a design convention it shares with the likes of the Honor lineup and recent LG flagships.

The LEAGOO S8 Pro recently went up for pre-order, along with its smaller cousin, the LEAGOO S8. The larger phone costs $249, while the smaller will run you only $169, though both are available for cheaper during the limited pre-order period. The LEAGOO S8 Pro has a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display, with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The LEAGOO S8, meanwhile, has a smaller 5.7-inch display of the same resolution, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. They both have a reasonably powerful MediaTek Helio P25 powering the whole show, along with a 3,050mAh battery keeping the lights on. The front camera array consists of an 8-megapixel and 2-megapixel pair, while one of the two cameras on the back bumps things up to a 13-megapixel unit, and is accompanied by another 2-megapixel camera.
