Seemingly Official Huawei Y9 Teaser Confirms Dual Cameras

Evan Blass has just published a teaser image for the upcoming Huawei Y9. This smartphone actually got certified by the FCC quite recently, while its press renders surfaced yesterday as well. Now, this teaser basically confirms that the phone will sport a dual camera setup on its back, and that all of its physical keys will sit on the right. We still do not know when exactly is Huawei planning to announce this smartphone, though, but the teaser says ‘coming soon’, so it will probably become official in the near future.

Now, as far as the phone’s specs are concerned, we really do not have any info to share with you, as no info leaked thus far. This smartphone is a part of the company’s Y series of devices, which is essentially Huawei’s budget lineup of phones. This suggests that we’ll see quite an affordable smartphone, which will probably be fueled by one of Huawei’s Kirin processors, a processor from the company’s Kirin 600-series. Now, the Huawei Y9 images that popped up on the FCC’s website confirmed that the phone will be made out of metal, and that it will ship with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. The company’s logo will be included on the back of the phone, and it will also sit below the device’s display. It seems like the Huawei Y9 will sport an 18:9 display aspect ratio as well, at least based on the shape of the device, and the phone’s bezels will not exactly be thick either, quite the contrary.

The Huawei Y9 images that were published on the FCC’s official website also confirmed that a SIM card tray will sit on the left side of the phone, while a 3.5mm headphone jack will be available on the bottom of the device. The Huawei Y9 will not sport a Type-C USB port, unfortunately, it will ship with a regular microUSB port. A loudspeaker will sit on the bottom of the device as well, in case you were wondering. Chances are that we will see 13 and 2-megapixel shooters on the back of this phone, a camera setup that Huawei already used on some of its handsets, though that’s just a guess at this point.
