Samsung’s Galaxy S9 has 37% faster download speeds than Apple’s iPhone X

The networks are working to bring even faster speeds to customers, but that doesn’t mean much if the smartphones on the market can’t take advantage of those changes.

It looks like Samsung is trying to keep up with the times and technology, though, because the company recently sent out a press release touting the download speed capabilities of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+.

Samsung makes mention of the CAT 18 LTE modem in both smartphones, which makes each capable of download speeds up to 1.2Gbps. Getting down into the download speeds of other smartphones out there, Samsung says that based on results from Speedtest app maker Ookla, the Galaxy S9 is 37% faster than the Apple iPhone X.

They included the Galaxy S7, too, which is 38 percent slower than the Galaxy S9. There isn’t as big a difference between the Galaxy S9 and the Google Pixel 2, though, with the S9 only being 17% faster than the Pixel 2.

Having a ridiculously fast smartphone is definitely a good thing, especially considering how much time owners spend browsing the internet, watching content, and downloading apps or games.

If you have a Galaxy S9 or S9+, have you noticed a difference in download speeds between your old handset and this one?
