Xiaomi ‘cactus’ Surfaces On Geekbench With 2GB Of RAM

Following the Xiaomi “valentino” which surfaced on Geekbench a couple of days ago, yet another Xiaomi-branded smartphone has just appeared on that benchmarking site, the Xiaomi “cactus”. This new handset seems to be inferior to the Xiaomi valentino, as it comes with 2GB of RAM and MediaTek’s MT6765 64-bit quad-core processor, at least according to Geekbench. In addition to that, Geekbench reveals that the phone will ship with Android 8.1 Oreo, while Xiaomi’s MIUI skin will probably be included on top of it, unless this ends up being the company’s Android Go smartphone, though that’s not as likely as it sports 2GB of RAM.

Geekbench also reveals that that phone managed to score 802 points in the single-core, and 2,334 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench. So, based on its specs alone, it’s safe to assume that this will be one of Xiaomi’s Redmi-branded smartphones, and considering that it’s about time Xiaomi introduces the Redmi 5X, this could be one of the Redmi 5X variants. The Redmi 4X was announced back in May 2017, so its successor is expected to arrive before the end of this month, or next month at the latest. Having said that, the Xiaomi “cereus” is yet another Xiaomi-branded smartphone which got certified by Geekbench recently, in mid-April, and judging by its specifications, that could be another Redmi 5X variant, a more powerful version of the Xiaomi “cactus”.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5X will probably sport noticeably thinner bezels than the Redmi 4X, and it will utilize on-screen buttons, compared to capacitive keys that are included on the Redmi 4X. The Redmi 5X will almost certainly ship with Android Oreo out of the box, and Xiaomi’s MIUI 9 skin on top of it. The device will probably include a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, and it will be made out of metal, at least if its predecessor is anything to go by. The Redmi 5X is expected to be quite compact, which means that its display will probably be smaller than 5.5 inches, though we’re only guessing here. Speaking of the display, an HD+ panel is expected to be included in the device, probably an IPS LCD panel.
