Essential Phone updated with June security patches and some important fixes

Essential is rarely behind Google in its security updates and June is no different. Just three days after Google releases the June security patches for Google devices, Essential does the same for its phone.

This update includes a few other things besides the security patches. The biggest one (that’s not mentioned in the changelog) is a fix for the multitouch issue many AOSP devices were experiencing. You can now successfully play games like PUBG with no touch issues.

Also included are Bluetooth stability fixes and MQA (Master Quality Authenticated Audio) support. This MQA support is part of Essential’s focus on audio in the near future, which includes a new click connector DAC, a partnership with Tidal, and the inclusion of $99 Earphones|HD earbuds with the device.

If you own an Essential Phone, head to Settings > About phone to check for new updates and pull the latest security patches!
