Looking for a Family-Friendly Hybrid? Check Out the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV!

Why the Outlander PHEV is a Great Choice for Families

If the John Hughes movies from the 1980s and early 1990s are any indications, Chicago is an amazing place to raise a family. Of course, it helps to have an awesome vehicle to help you get around, no matter if it is a day off in downtown Chicago, a Saturday morning detention, or a cross-country road trip to Wally World. While Mr. Hughes preferred to feature giant, gas-guzzling station wagons decked out with faux wood paneling in his films, times have definitely changed in the last 30 years, and today’s families prefer sleek and efficient crossovers – including the all-new 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. So what makes the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV a great choice for families? Continue reading and find out!

Comfortable Seating Capacity

As a 2-row crossover, the Outlander PHEV can accommodate up to five passengers, which makes it a great choice if you have a couple of kids who need to use car seats or booster seats. Once the kids graduate from the booster seats in a few years, they will enjoy plenty of leg and elbow room – which means you won’t need to deal with backseat bickering.

Cavernous Cargo Space

Behind the rear seats, the cargo space measures 30.4 cubic feet – which can easily fit the gear needed for a trip to the Great Outdoors of Wisconsin or a bunch of relatives’ luggage when they stay with you for your daughter’s wedding (just don’t forget your other daughter’s 16th birthday). When the rear seats are folded down, the cargo space increases to 78.0 cubic feet.

When using both gasoline and electric power, the Outlander PHEV attains 74 MPGe. The total driving range before refueling and recharging is approximately 310 miles.

Super All-Wheel Control

Chicago is famous for its cold and snowy winters, but with the Outlander PHEV, you can still get to where you need to go. The extra power and traction provided by the S-AWC drivetrain system will allow you to drive on snow-covered roads out in the country so you can pick out the perfect tree for that fun, old-fashioned family Christmas (don’t forget to bring the saw).
