Our stay of the week – The Hoxton, Paris

Set in Paris’s 2nd arrondissement, the uber-hip Hoxton brand brings its trademark mix of design-forward interiors and understated cool vibe to its fourth outpost – in the heart of the French capital. An enchanting mix of old and new, The Hoxton, Paris gives a stylish update to its historic charms, ensuring a stay filled with wild creativity and wonder.

Unique features abound in this bolthole: an 18th-century rococo façade gives way to industrial-chic interiors, while a 300-year-old spiral staircase ascends from the courtyard-style lobby through five palatial floors of dusky-hued rooms. These 172 homes-from-home are crammed with style and character, yet always give a firm nod to the hotel’s roots – think original oak-timber floors and exposed beams, along with The Hoxton’s trademark dusky-hued walls, industrial lighting and white-tiled bathrooms.

On the dining front, you’ll find that Rivié restaurant reinvents French classics in a traditional brasserie-style space, updated with modern banquette seating, hanging pendant lighting and marble-topped bars. Elsewhere, the lobby is peppered with velvet sofas and cosy armchairs for a reviving espresso and spills over onto the Winter Garden – a courtyard-style lounge edged by a wall of emerald foliage. The sumptuous Jacques’ Bar features a bespoke cocktail list and shabby-chic vibe – think oversized floral wallpaper, mustard-toned velvet sofas and tassel lamps.

If you can drag yourself away from the Instagrammable interiors, head outside for more photo fodder in the form of the City of Light’s prettiest sights. After all, this uber-hip pad is set within terribly easy walking distance of the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay, the Centre Pompidou, the Tuileries Garden and the pretty streets of Le Marais. The hotel’s immediate vicinity is an elegant one, too, filled with excellent restaurants, open-air markets and chic boutiques – so you’ll never need to stray too far for a slice of authentic Parisian life.

We’re offering a stay in a Cosy Garden View, Roomy Garden View or Biggy Garden View room from £60 per person, per night, including a breakfast bag.
