T-Mobile’s Galaxy S9, S9 Plus & Note 8 Getting New Updates

Samsung’s trio of flagship devices over at T-Mobile, the Galaxy S9, S9 Plus and Note 8, are all now receiving updates. All three updates are now listed on T-Mobile’s website, and the three devices are receiving the following software versions: G960USQU2ARF7
(Galaxy S9), G965USQU2ARF7 (Galaxy S9 Plus), and N950USQU4CRF3 (Galaxy Note 8). All three of these updates are currently rolling to T-Mobile’s Galaxy S9, S9 Plus, and Note 8 devices OTA (Over-the-Air), though keep in mind it may take a while for them to arrive to your phone, as these are staged rollouts.

Now, in terms of the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, both devices are getting RTT updates, and DIGITS enhancements, while general bug fixes and system improvements are a part of the update. In the Galaxy Note 8’s case, the update brings a fix for an incorrect time and date bug which has been mentioned a number of times lately, while some camera-related fixes and optimizations are listed as well. On top of that, the Galaxy Note 8 is also getting general bug fixes and various system improvements / optimizations. If you’d like to check whether the update is available for your phone as we speak, head over to Settings, scroll down to the ‘Software update’ option. Once you’re there, simply check if the update is available.

The Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus had been introduced earlier this year, back in February, and are currently the most powerful Samsung-branded smartphones out there. The Galaxy Note 8 arrive in August last year, but considering the Galaxy Note 9 is still not available, it’s the most powerful Galaxy Note-branded device out there, even though it’s inferior to both the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. These new updates do not bring a new version of Android to either of the devices, and you can call them iterative updates, as that’s exactly what they are. Just a reminder, the Galaxy Note 9 will become official on August 9, so we’re still about a month away from that announcement.
