CHUWI Says Hi9 Plus Is Coming To Compete With MediaPad M5 Pro

The CHUWI Hi9 Plus is an upcoming budget tablet by a Chinese company called ‘CHUWI’, and the company is seeing that tablet as a budget alternative to the Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro. CHUWI already confirmed Hi9 Plus’ specifications, and its design, actually. The CHUWI Hi9 Plus comes with slightly thicker bezels than the Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro, but that’s something that probably won’t bother most people, as you need space to grip the tablet anyway.

The CHUWI Hi9 Plus comes with stylus support (and a stylus is included in the box), and the company also released a keyboard for it, so that you can increase your productivity. The CHUWI Hi9 Plus is considerably more affordable than the Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro, and the specs of these two tablets are considerably different as well. The CHUWI Hi9 Plus is fueled by MediaTek’s Helio X27 64-bit deca-core processor, while the MediaPad M5 Pro comes with Huawei’s Kirin 960 64-bit octa-core processor. Both tablets come with 4GB o RAM and 64GB of storage, while both offer storage expansion as well. One more similarity between the two tablets comes to their display size and resolution, as both devices sport 10.8-inch QHD+ (2560 x 1660) displays.

The CHUWI Hi9 Plus, unlike the Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro, sports two SIM card slots, while both device ship with Android Oreo out of the box. Their software is considerably different, as CHUWI’s offering is more stock than Huawei’s, MediaPad M5 Pro comes with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) skin on top of it. A 7,000mAh battery is included in the CHUWI Hi9 Plus, while the MediaPad M5 Pro comes with a 7,500mAh unit. The CHUWI Hi9 Plus sports an 8-megapixel camera on both its front and back, while the MediaPad M5 Pro features a 13-megapixel camera on the back, while an 8-megapixel camera is included on the front. The two tablets weigh almost the same, as the CHUWI Hi9 Plus weighs 500 grams, and the MediaPad M5 Pro weighs 498 grams. The MediaPad M5 Pro is quite expensive at $639.99, while the CHUWI Hi9 Plus will become available soon, and it will cost around $250.
